IDEATION
This was my first project with the company, and started as an exercise to create a decorative dry erase board with storage for an entry way.
First I began playing with form, exploring different types of storage, styles, and materials/manufacturing processes
REFINEMENT
Once the initial concept sketches were reviewed, we narrowed it down to three form and material types from the ideation stage to explore as the board set and I went to work refining those concepts.
The materials we looked at would effect look and construction, we explored MDF, Bent Metal, and MDF version of the bent metal look, show in order here.
CMF and form would go hand in hand here, so I created a mood board of the type of color and form language I was aspiring towards with the final design.
THE BOARD SET
After all this ideation, I decided to move forward with what we called the Arc Design, and set about applying that design language to an entry way board set.
MANUFACTURING PROCESS
Once this design was approved, the next steps was making sure it could be manufactured properly at our target cost.
This required details spec sheets and a couple rounds of prototypes .

FINAL PRODUCT
After a few tweaks, the board set was successfully made and sold into retail at Target in 2023, it is currently still sold in stores.
